Install KDE 4.9 in Ubuntu 12.04/Ubuntu 11.10/Linux Mint 13/12 (New Release)

What’s New in KDE 4.9?

  • Enhanced apps like Okular, Kopete, KDE PIM and more.
  • Improvements in Dolphin File Manager, Konsole, Activities and KWin Window manager.
  • Stability improvements.
  • Improvements in networking and general responsiveness of KDE.

To Install latest KDE in Ubuntu/Linux Mint open Terminal (Press Ctrl+Alt+T) and copy the following commands in the Terminal:

  • sudo add-apt-repository ppa:kubuntu-ppa/backports
  • sudo apt-get update
  • sudo apt-get install kubuntu-desktop

If you already have KDE then enter following commands:

  • sudo add-apt-repository ppa:kubuntu-ppa/backports
  • sudo apt-get update
  • sudo apt-get upgrade
