Free Software Foundation Tamil Nadu (FSFTN) invites applications for
final-semester projects from B.E/B. Tech students in Computer Science and
IT streams. The duration of the project will be for one semester and will
be done in free software. On completion of the project, the student will
get a certificate from FSFTN.
Interested students must send their resume and list of interests to
firstname.lastname@example.org. The last date of application is January 12.
Eligible candidates will be interviewed over phone and a final list will be
announced on January 14.
1) All the projects will be in the domain of Free Software.
2) Students should be willing to spend a mandatory amount of hours at the
FSFTN office every week. The minimum number of hours will be decided
according to the scope of each project and after discussions with mentors.
3) Students need not have any familiarity with Free Software but must be
willing to learn on the project and quickly pick up skills.
4) The projects will have weekly or fortnightly releases. There will be
month-end reviews for each project.
Students will be qualified to manage projects and possess the necessary
skills considered premium by both the mainstream IT industry and the
emerging start-up economy.
Students will be guided by a group of mentors with a unique mixture of
academic and industrial experience. The focus will be on projects that
contribute to the building and support of the Free Software community. FSFTN
reserves the right to terminate the project if the criteria set for
students is not being met.
